What can you not stand about television today?

Is there too many shows about what you don't want to see?

Be honest.

Also include thoughts about art direction, music, story, theme, marketing, etc...

I don't like how everything creates a false image.
too many stereotypes , too much sex in everything (not that sex is a bad thing..)
but everything shown these days teaches our youth the WRONG things in life instead
of the things they should be learning.

I am sick of reality shows and all those shows about snobby, rude, sometimes rich, and generally bratty and idiotic people. Such as The Real Housewives of [Wherever], The Hills, Bridezillas, etc. I'm just sick of people turning these people in to celebrities for doing nothing but being bad mannered and whining and throwing a lot of tantrums. Or for being underhanded to their own "friends."

There's a reason I pretty much only watch a handful of shows.

Teen drama reality shows.

Ok, we get it, you have issues and raging hormones, doesn't make you star material.

Another is those "Life as *place famous celebrity name here*" I don't want to know what I don't have. I don't want to know about there snotty kids, their issues, their neighbors, their money, their overly dressed froo-froo dog.

Gimme Letterman and Ferguson and I'm happy.

Commercials, plus their raised volume; shock value shows - I call these "Tabloid TV" (e.g. Untamed and Uncut, Destroyed in Seconds); reality shows with very little production value and containing nothing but drama (e.g. Housewives of etc, NYC Prep, Kardashians, etc.)

Don't take life so seriously. No one makes it out alive.

The shows when celebrities want to "find love".
I watched a bit of "Rock of Love" with Brit Michaels once and the girls had a challenge of wearing lingerie at a pretend wedding? WTF is that all about???
Later on those same shows have a second show almost soon after because the celebrity didn't like the person they picked the first time.

With the exception of a few shoes I really like, there seem to be no good, original ideas. It's like the networks feel tied to appealing to the frighteningly large population of shallow idiots.
